Frequently asked questions

Why is my transfer rounded to the nearest USD?

Due to recent updates by the Central Bank of Nigeria, recipients of dollar transfers can only collect funds in USD. This means that received funds will be rounded to the nearest dollar. We recommend that you always send an actual amount and notify your recipient of this to avoid misunderstanding at the pick-up location. For example, $200.30 will be rounded to $200.

What is the maximum amount that can be sent/received via USD Cash Pick-Up?

You can send a maximum of USD 9,999 per transfer. However, please note that transfers above USD 2,000 may require extra verification, in line with CBN laws to improve transaction safety.

Can my recipient exchange USD for Naira at the cash pick-up location?

Please note that Send App does not provide currency exchange services. However, recipients can inquire at the pick-up location.

How much can I send to USD domiciliary accounts in Nigeria?

You can send a maximum of USD 10,000 per transfer. However, transfers above USD 2,000 may require extra verification in line with CBN laws to improve transaction safety. This means that delivery time may vary, based on the transaction amount.

Will my recipient be charged any fees to receive funds?

Send App does not charge extra fees to receive funds via USD domiciliary Account.

Can I send money to all USD domiciliary account types?

Only Individual USD domiciliary Accounts can receive money directly. Transfers to non-individual USD domiciliary accounts are currently not supported. Always confirm from your recipient before initiating a transfer to a domiciliary account.
